My Logo Story

Creating a logo takes a lot of time, effort, and ideas. With the creation of my new logo, watch my process from start to finish.

My Research

These are the notes that I took while watching a video on Lynda.com .
I learned about how different shapes can mean certain things when incorporated into logos.
I wavered between circles and squares for my logo because I like the way the circle shape encompasses the design but I also liked the structure and symmetry of the square shape.

Mood Board

My mood board was kind of all over the place like I am. I grabbed some logos from street wear brands that I really liked along with different patters like the maze, bandana and the sound waves. I also really liked the idea of a stamp like design.

Sketches

These were the first sketches that I started off with, I was just playing around with how I wanted my initials to look like.

These were two of my circle designs which I digitalized them, which you will see later.

These were two sketches where I was messing around with borders, I didn't end up liking these.

These were my more square designs that played around with the sound waves and stamp design from earlier. I also digitalized these, which you will see in the next pictures.

The Digital Process

These were the first four designs that I started out with in Adobe Illustrator.

This is my entire art board, where I revised the original designs by changing the font, color, and placement.
This was the column that I picked out of the four that I liked the most and felt like represented me the best.

My Final Logo

This is my final logo.
I am really proud of this and I think that it shows my significant improvement in graphic design throughout the year. It incorporates the scratchy, Sharpie like stroke, the maze pattern in the font and also resembles the stamp design. It can be made into many different sizes and the colors can be versatile as well.

Compared to this logo that I made at the beginning of this year I can say that I definitely improved this year in my graphic design class.

Different Medias

This is my logo on an artist card and a business card. I actually really like the business card and think my logo fits nicely.

My Story

Even though my logo doesn't scream my entire life story, I think that it definitely represents me in the small details of it. The the square marker looking stroke that encloses my initials represents my creative side and my love for drawing and sketching. The font of my initials resembles sort of a maze which is how I look at life. Finding yourself through the maze of life, even though you might hit dead ends sometimes if you keep moving forward towards a goal then you're golden. And finally, the square shape enclosing my design represents my love for structure and organization. Even the color, a pale greenish-blue, makes me think of my calm, easy-going personality.
