This weeks endeavor is taking a not-so-hot webpage and using a stellar webpage to help boost the potential that was already present in the failing webpage.
The website that I used as my "potential site" was Blue Valley Northwest High School's webpage which although not horrible, definitely needs some help.
My stellar website of choice is the Scooter's Coffee website. Not only is their coffee absolutely fantastic, but so is their website!

This is just the beginning of the wonderful transformation!
The Transformation
To start out this task, I began with looking at the Scooter's logo and blending it together with the BVNW Huskies logo. I used the colors of BVNW's as well as their signature Husky mascot and placed them in a almost identical format as Scooter's logo. I had to work some magic in both Photoshop and Illustrator but I was pleased with the final outcome as pictured below.
The next step was creating a navigation bar as the menu for the array of links that was similar to Scooter's. I kept it going across the entire width of the page and added hover animation. I placed the logo I created above the navigation bar to stay true to the layout of the Scooter's page. Finally, I headed over to BVNW's website and pulled some information from their homepage to place into the empty spaces. Check out the final result below or click here!
I am happy with the way this transformation turned out. Yes, the website could be a little more complex, but for a school website where its main purpose is providing information, I think that a simpler, cleaner design is the way to go and I think it looks a lot better than it did before. Not to mention, the site is now fully responsive thanks to Fluid Grid Layouts in Dreamweaver.
